Slovenian Genealogical Society (Slovensko rodoslovno društvo - SRD) was founded in March 1995, formalizing a group of family researchers who were working on the subject of genealogy in an informal way. SRD is an association of amateur researchers and its aim is to support research in the area of genealogy and associated disciplines.
There are three main activities that characterizes the work of the Society. It publishes a bulletin, entitled "Drevesa" (The Trees), its members meet every second Tuesday of every month, and the Society organizes events on special topics - presentations are often accompanied by practical work and demonstrations. Membership with the SHS entitles the member to a 10% discount on the membership fees for the SRD. |

The mission of the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada or RHSC and its Branches is to promote the art and science of heraldry, particularly Canadian heraldry, and to encourage an interest in the subject among Canadians. Since the Society's foundation more than three decades ago, the RHSC has never lost sight of its objectives and continues to this day informing and educating Canadians and assisting them and their institutions in the acquisition of properly granted coats of arms. During its first twenty-five years, the Society was the driving force toward the establishment of Canada's own body for the granting of arms.
The Society publishes Heraldry in Canada for its members, a quarterly journal that is the only Canadian periodical devoted to heraldic matters. It contains articles by leading heraldic experts as well as commentary on events of heraldic interest in Canada. Membership with the SHS entitles the member to a 10% discount on the regular membership fee for the RHSC. |
