Overview
The Society's heraldic consultation practice principle objective is to ensure that any and all Slovenians from individuals, institutions to corporations regardless of their location or country of residence, who wish to use heraldry will have access to it, by making available resources and expertise to encourage good heraldic practice in Slovenia and for Slovenians. This will be accomplished through working towards the highest standards of the art form of heraldry maintaining a traditional quality as well as the periodic introduction of new and unique Slovenian concepts in the art of heraldry, and through continued research and development in the area of the art and science of heraldry. These will manifest into registration procedures that are consistent with most international heraldic authorities or registrars.
The consultant's role and major activities include:
- the gathering of heraldic requirements of the candidate, and invoking a background examination including providing genealogical resources and services from the Society's genealogical affiliations to the candidate in order to design armorial bearings that satisfy both the candidate's desires and requirements, and to remain consistent with known rules governing heraldry;
- manage and administer heraldic projects in terms of assignment of resources, heralds, heraldic artists, and to ensure that the project achieves its goals and delivers in a timely manner;
- provide general heraldic expertise and consultation to clients from individuals, institutions to corporations and government agencies;
- deliver presentations and demonstrations for the purpose of education in the field of heraldry, from special presentations at schools to corporate presentations.
The Society is constantly seeking resources and skilled individuals who wish to become involved with heraldic projects and with the Society itself. The Society is under development, and therefore, heraldic projects have not yet materialized, however, if you believe you have one or more relevant skills listed below that can be applied to future heraldic projects, and wish to be considered for such a role, there are two requirements that must be satisfied:

Skills required
The following is a partial list of the skills required to populate future heraldic projects.
- herald - an individual who possesses a LSHS designation for heraldic design or comparable skill (recognized heralds who are external to the SHS);
- heraldic artist (computer based) - the ability to render armorial bearings electronically using appropriate computer graphics software based on the design (blazon) created by the herald, it would be preferable if the heraldic artist also possesses good understanding of blazon, however, it is not mandatory;
- project administrators - individuals who will assume accountability for the projects, administer the project(s), allocate resources, manage schedules and deliverables, main contact / interface point with the client;
- calligrapher - individuals who possess calligraphy skills for those particular projects where the client wishes to have a letters patent created by hand;
- heraldic artist - individuals who possess artist skill with water colours or acrylic paints to render armorial bearings by hand for those clients who wish to have a letters patent created by hand;
- account manager - individuals who are able to interface with individual, institutional, corporate, government to identify heraldry consulting opportunities, costing of projects;
